Regional Grid Communities

PSciGrid constantly collaborates with regional and international grid communities to adapt the latest development on grid computing and advancements on grid technology. ASTI, through PSciGrid becomes an institutional member of the Pacific Rim of Applications and Grid Middleware Assembly (PRAGMA) on 2008 and actively participates in PRAGMA’s annual fora and conferences. ASTI also joined the consortium of 15 institutions from 12 countries that are part of the EUAsiaGrid project.

Pacific RimApplications and Grid Middleware Assembly (PRAGMA)

is a community of grid users along the Pacific belt. With 33 members of entirely RnD, education and government institutions, PRAGMA aims to secure a sustained collaboration across the grid networks in the area. It holds events like annual meetings and conferences that would serve as venue for knowledge and information exchange. It also holds training workshops and seminars reflective of the needs of grid users in the area. PRAGMA promotes awareness on grid computing and acts as a support organization of grid users across the Pacific belt.

EUAsiaGrid Project

The EUAsiaGrid project aims to thrust research cooperation across Asian countries by encouraging scientific communities of various disciplines to take advantage of the grid network infrastructure, already established through the Enabling Grids for e-Science (EGEE) program funded by the European Union (EU). Like PRAGMA, EUAsiaGrid is a support organization for scientific communities especially in the fields of High Energy Physics, Computational Chemistry, Mitigation of Natural Disasters, Bioinformatics and Biomedics, and other Social Science Applications by providing technological skills and infrastructure to them.
